 In recent months a disturbing cache of secret service MI5 documents have been discovered. The Times, reported on 25 October - about this worrying development in operation Kenova. Stakeknife, was a double agent - who died in 2023 and was - deputy head of the IRA - his handler was in military intelligence at the Defence Department in London. The real name of the agent was Freddie Scappaticci, who lived in Belfast during the so called Troubles. He was rewarded for this double life by £80,000 a year.
