This seminal novel by Arthur Koestler, spoke about a dystopian world of the regime of Stalin, in the 1930's. It was announced on Friday by Will Lewis, chief executive of the influential Washington Post, that this November they won't be endorsing either candidate. Staff at the paper are both shocked and outraged by this supine decision. We know why? The Post has endorsed - in every election since Jimmy Carter, in 1976. However should Trump, win and they had supported Harris, they feared retribution. The owner of the Washington Post is Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon. Democracy only flourishes in bright sunlight, but this cowardly and pusillanimous decision will only encourage the - darkness at noon. What a dark day for all democracies, but especially for American's - who once had the mighty Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, of Watergate fame. As a consequence, many young people across the globe - went into journalism because of them.
