Too much gloom and doom.

The chancellor Rachael Reeves, has been accused of too much - gloom and doom. As a consequence many businesses, both large and small aren't investing as they are fearful of what lies ahead. Today at the Labour Party conference in Liverpool, the first one in government for 15years - will provide an opportunity to address these legitimate concerns. Can she deliver? On the Today programme this morning, talking to Nick Robinson, she attempted to do so. Her concern is to stick to her - self imposed spending limits - without dramatic tax increases. These fiscal rules are a necessary condition for economic stability and growth. We don't want another - mini-budget like in 2022 - under the incompetent Liz Truss. We all know what happened next. Are there sunny uplands ahead or only storm clouds? We shall see..
