In the recent elections in Austria there has been a seismic change of direction to the right. The Freedom Party (FPO) which has promised to remigrate large numbers of migrants and thereby create a "Fortress Austria". Moreover it has pro-Putin politics and wants a quick end to the war in Ukraine. As we approach the 100th anniversary of Hitler, becoming chancellor in January 2033 - these are very disturbing times. France, Germany, Italy and Holland have all moved to the right recently. We in Britain are somewhat out on a limb with a centre - left party in power. Can the glue of the EU - hold as these tectonic political plates start to move? Personally I doubt it.
