In the bucolic settings of the Garden of England, we have a very special place and It's - The Shoreham Aircraft Museum. It's very small - no more than two sitting rooms pushed together. Nevertheless it packs a punch above it's limitations. I went today (it's only open at weekends and Bank Holidays) and had a jolly interesting time. There is also a delightful tea shop adjacent to the museum that sells cakes, scones and different teas and coffee. It's only a few miles from Sevenoaks and takes about 20 minutes by car. There's a station at Shoreham, so you can walk from there in about 10 minutes. So if you are interested in WW2 memorabilia, this is a good place to start. www.shoreham-aircraft-museum.co.uk 01959 524416. In addition there is the famous landscape artist Samuel Parmer's House and a recently refurbishment Samuel Palmer pub, opposite the St Peter and St Paul, Parish church. A delightful day out.
