Is this a - storm in a tea cup or something more important? The Garrick Club is for men only. Nevertheless there are some, like Simon Case, the cabinet secretary and Sir Richard Moore, the head of MI6 - who have just renounced their membership because of this antediluvian policy. In my opinion it seems so out of date to be excluding someone based on their gender? The club was founded back in the dark days of 1831. This was just before the Great Reform Act of 1832, which started the ball rolling for universal suffrage. Let's have done with this - backwoodman approach which is holding back the talents of so many women.
