The NHS.

It was once said about our relationship with the NHS - "the closest thing we have to a religion". However this isn't the case any longer - according to a national long-running British Social Attitudes survey which suggest only 24% are happy with the service in 2023.  So that's a staggering 76% are unhappy. I know from my own experience of trying to see my GP - I had to wait 5 weeks and there are similar problems seeing a dentist. At the London Olympics in 2012 - the NHS was at the centre of the celebrations, but not any longer. The survey has been taken every year since 1983, but it's never been as low as this - over 3000 people were spoken to across the country to obtain this data. The research was published jointly between the Kings Fund and Nuffield Trust, think tanks. I'm addition only 13% are happy with social care. This is a damming report for the government and the next administration - will have a Herculean task to turn this tanker around.
