We have had the most extraordinary result in two by -elections, one Tamworth the other Mid-Bedfordshire. Generally considered rock solid Conservative safe seats with massive majorities. Not any longer as that has changed in the last 24 hours. The turnout was low in both constituency, but a victory is a victory and as Churchill famously said years ago "one is a majority". We have had the chair of the Conservative Party Greg Hands, trying to persuade us that all will be well at the general election some time next year. He is moving the deck chairs on the Titanic and Labour are heading for a considerable majority.
