The Review Show - BBC 4.

This tired format of  'talking heads' just doesn't work any longer - as it did in the past. It now has a new slot on a Sunday evening, from its previous stable on a Friday evening after Newsnight. Then it had some 387,000 viewers, but its first outing a month ago got only 76,000. I don't think it will be adding more. In addition Martha Kearney is the same as before, tired and without sparkle. Why is the BBC lacking any courage when it comes to - putting out to grass - some of these presenters? Perhaps they are scared they will be accused of ageism. The other problem is the same panel of re-cycled pundits, who love the sound of their own voices. They are all past it, where are the - new kids on the block? I'm sure there are many talented new voices in the UK that could easily make an intelligent contribution. Its very depressing seeing a flagship arts programme marooned in a berth that will attract so few new young customers. The BBC needs to wake up. Lord Hall the new DG - should look at this serious issue.
