The Fall - BBC 2.

In recent months we have had a plethora of excellent crime noir stuff of TV, especially - The Killing. Now something to keep you awake at night because its set in Britain and makes very uneasy viewing indeed. The story so far - we have a serial killer living in the town - and he appears to be - relatively normal - in everyday life. I won't go into more detail but suffice it to say that its not very pleasant. The strongest element apart from the plot is the excellent cast - led by the sexy Gillian Anderson - her of the X Files. She has been brought in from the Met - to help solve the crimes by the Chief Constable, who has a dirty secret himself. In addition there is a drug scam going on at the same time. So the thrill of this show is the multi-layered aspects of low life and seeming normality. Needless-to-say she gets embroiled with another copper, but this only adds to the underlying tension. Worth watching, if you can take the suspense.
