An outstanding exhibition at Tate Britain.

I tried the other day to see this outstanding exhibition - of the contrasting works of Turner and Constable, but was disappointed as it was sold out. So I had a slot today and wasn’t disappointed. If you see only one exhibition this year, then make sure you book a ticket for this - once in a lifetime opportunity and experience. We are very fortunate that the most inspiring and contrasting painters were painters at the same time. Turner, was threatened by the upstart and precious Constable. Turner however was a Royal Academician, long before Constable, but saw him as a potential threat. Turner was able to evoke a sense of danger and drama in many of his paintings, while Constable was able to suggest a nostalgic bucolic Elysium of the English countryside. A wonderful experience, that won’t be forgotten.
