Convalescing.

On July the first, I had to go to A&Z as has I couldn’t pass a urine. It was extremely painful and as upi waited to see a doctor, the pain increased. When I eventually did the a doctor after five hours of - he explained the problem. Under normal circumstances, the bladder can contain about half a litre of fluid. I had over a litre in mine and this was the cause of the problem.  O wonder  “I was in such pain”. He released the excess fluid and I immediately felt, relief that the agony was over. However, I was then given a - catheter, which is a painful process. Since then Ive had a replacement catheter. But the unpleasant side effect is the catheter, doesn’t drain all the liquid from the catheter. So over time it became infected and I had to have antibiotics. This happened again on Thursday evening, so again I had to visit my local hospital. I was again, prescribed antibiotics and the infection is going down, slowly. I have considerable pain when trying to urinate and there is blood in my urine.

So Im convalescing at home and taking things very slowly. My son came along on Friday, with plenty of food, drinks and a pot of roses. I think I’m getting better, but it feels like a long time. Ive been told that I have an - enlarged prostate and this is the cause for - stopping me urinating. Ive been referred to a local consultant urologist, but apparently the waiting list is long and I won’t be seen until the New Year in January or February. This is a good example of just - how the health system is broken and must be fixed. Especially before the next general election, otherwise the prime minister will be out.
