Due to increasing anxiety about illegal migration, there is increasing pressure on the government to introduce - digital ID. Something only a few years ago - would have been considered outrageous and not acceptable in a democracy. That attitude has now dramatically changed. About 40 Labour MP’s want the government to get a grip of the situation, otherwise they will be punished in the polling booths across the country. Sir Tony Blair, the former prime minister has long advocated such a policy. Moreover it would potentially deter possible attempts to enter the country illegally. More importantly, the general public would think that the government is taking the matter seriously. This was the - touchstone issue at the time of the 2016 referendum and people are angry and frustrated that - nothing has changed and in fact is now far worse. Time for Keir Starmer, to get a grip.
