There is an inspirational broadcast on BBC Sounds - Patriot by Alexi Navalny, read by Benedict Cumberbatch. The story describes the ongoing struggle with the FSB and the cronies surrounding Putin. Is it possible to have a functioning democracy in Russia? Navalny, says people outside the country confuse - the Russian State, with the Russian people. They are not the same thing. The Russian people are - fun loving and enjoy life and especially its culture of - novels, music, opera, ballet and art. They love the vastness of the country and its various ethnic groups and cultures - that make the country so interesting. Navalny, is courageous and popular across his country - but Putin cannot allow him to survive and eventually murder him. The party he established was the Anti-corruption Party - that is a direct threat to the kleptocracy of Putin. He is killed in prison by the Russian State on 16 February 2024. Can the - flame of democracy stay alight or will Putin - snuff it out? He had to come back to his beloved country, despite the threats from the State - “we must not give up”. Faith makes life more endurable - religion makes life simpler and bearable - do you believe in the immortality of the soul? Having faith in immortality helped him tolerate great suffering - just like Christ.
