Ceasefire in Israel.

 According to Joe Biden, there will be a - ceasefire in Israel starting at 4 am local time. The agreement is only between them and Hazbollah - however the real threats come from Hamas and not from Hazbollah. The untold misery for many families on both sides of the divide continues without mercy. To most people in the region and in particular Israel - are now sceptical about the - so called two state solution. Why would you trust your neighbour - if only recently they have tried to murder you? This Gordian knot appears to be without a rational solution for all the participants. You would need the patience of Job. I’ve watched the political process in the region for many years - since  I was first in Aden a port in Yemen in 1963. I further got to know more about the area - after volunteering for the Six Day War in 1967. I was at the Erez, Kibbutz on the Gaza Strip. I’m very pessimistic any long term stable arrangement can be found. It’s so combustible and life threatening. Nevertheless we - must hope that eventually some good governance will emerge from this miasma.
