A grim record.

At The Countess of Chester Hospital, where Lucy Letby, was employed there has been much wringing of hands, about serious failures of management. The chief executive Tony Chambers, has expressed “regret about these failures”. It’s so easy to express regret after - the horse has bolted. This case has raised many questions about the supervising of staff at all levels of responsibility. Letby, has been found guilty of murdering many infants in her charge at the hospital. The case has raised many professional questions, but few satisfactory answers. Unless these fears are addressed the NHS will be further undermined. The health secretary Wes Streeting, must put sufficient resources into the organisation to get things done. As someone who worked in the NHS in child, adolescent and adult psychiatry for many years - I sincerely hope the dysfunctional system will be addressed.
