Dame Katherine Grainger, is to become the first female chair of the British Olympic Association - in its 119 year history. This is a good day for her and women in sport and as an important role model for other successful, female athletes in this country, but also in other countries. Sporting success brings personal achievement, national pride and is a boost to the - happiest of the society at large. Katherine Grainger, had great success in a rowing career that lasted for over 20 years. She is a highly respected person in UK Sport, wider sporting community and general public. At the London Olympics in 2012 - we all took great pleasure in our collective achievements and success. It brought the country together in an important way and created a positive camaraderie - throughout the land. Congratulations to Dame Katherine Grainger.
