 No other English cricketer has achieved more than the outstanding Joe Root. His grace, skill and motivation have set him apart from all the rest. He has overtaken his friend and colleague Sir Alistair Cook and others like Graham Gooch, Geoff Boycott, Colin Cowdrey and Jack Hobbs. Such tenacity and leadership are not easily replicated. The game of cricket - will never see his like again. Let's all celebrate this Englishman of sporting genius. His average in a Test Match has been 51.33 and to date he has scored 12,578 runs. The leading Test Match runs are by Sachin Tendulkar at 15,921 an average of 53.78. Joe Root, could overtake Sachin Tendulkar, eventually. Let's hope that one day this will comes to pass.
