Nothing but pygmies.

When I scan the political horizon today, all I can see are - political pygmies. Giving the membership of the Conservative Party - the power to choose the next leader is unwise. They don't represent the collective wisdom of the British people. They have a 1950's Panglossian pre-Windrush concept of the country. They thought Liz Truss, would be a good idea as well as Iain Duncan Smith. In the past there were so many politicians who had what was referred to then as - bottom. They had character and probably had had military experience. Men like Denis Healey, Jim Callaghan, Roy Jenkins or Douglas Hurd, Kenneth Baker and Mrs Thatcher. Where are the equivalent politicians today? How have we ended up with so much mediocrity? Only a choice today between the maverick Kemi Badenoch, and vacuous narcissistic Robert Jenrick. God help us.

There are clearly many causes, but having so many who are naive and had  - come down from Oxford after reading PPE. Next a - bag carrier or a special advisor or spad. They haven't done anything - adult in the world. The House of Commons is an extension of their public school as was Oxford. Why no proper career prior to becoming an MP? I cannot see this will change any time soon, as ambitious young people - don't want to miss the political bus. How very depressing.
