I only have three regrets in my life and they are: not learning how to surf, bringing the pizza to London and learning a language. When I was in Honolulu in 1963 and 1964 - I didn’t learn how to surf. I had a number of goes and enjoyed it very much, but didn’t pursue it, much to my regret. The other is the pizza. When I worked across Germany, from the autumn of 1964 with American troops. Outside each barracks was a - pizza wood fired pizza hut There was invariably a long queue of soldiers waiting for their hot delicious pizza. Pizza Express opened its first restaurant in Soho in 1965. I could have got there ahead of them. Finally, not learning a language. I could when in Germany, but didn’t or when in Paris with my girlfriend, it could have been French. So three regrets, but that’s not too bad for someone approaching 82.
