Now in its 46th year, this prestigious competition has launch many musical careers. Last night on BBC Two we were down to the last three. Two pianists and one violinist - over the next 2 and half hours - we will discover the winner. Interestingly in the long history of the competition no two competitors have chosen the same piece of music. This time it was to be the very demanding - Rackmaminov Second Piano Concerto. The other musical choice was the equally demanding Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto. The ultimate winner was the outstanding 17 year old Ryan Wang, for his inspirational playing of the Rachmaninov. The event took place at the Bristol Beacon with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. No doubt this highly intelligent and talented pianist - will play in the great musical venues across the world. A name to look out for Ryan Wang.
