Making tough unpopular decisions.

It's easy to make popular decisions and leave the 'unpopular' ones- to another day and kick the can down the road. This is what the Conservative government did for 15 years, with the help of the malign Lib/Dems. That has to stop now - or nothing will ever change and 20 years from now - that hole will be so much bigger and depper. The prime minister Sir Keir Starmer, explains all this in his first major in depth interview since the general election in July - with Laura Kuenssberg on BBC television this morning. The previous Conservative government 'ran away from tough decisions -  it's easy to make the popular ones'. How refreshing to have a candid and honest assessment of the state of the public finances from the prime minister. For too long charlatans like the - snake oil salesman Boris Johnson and Liz Truss - peddled dishonestly. The NHS is in a parlous situation and we all have had experience of that sad case. The previous governments have hallowed this to deliberately occur on their watch in order to - push more people - who can afford it to go private and leave the NHS. What a gang of pusillanimous and congenitally dishonest politicians.
