The first cabinet meeting of the new government will take place this morning in Downing Street. Wes Streeting, the health and social care minister has already delivered a devastating assessment of the state of the NHS saying it's " broken". This candid point of view, will be welcomed by those working in the service and by patients who are only too familiar with it's many failings. The need for radical change is now necessary to get the health service - fit for purpose. How long will it all take? This government and patients will need to see results by the time of the next election in 2029.
