London mayor election.

Sidiq Khan, has won an astonishing 3rd term in office. There had been speculation - that the outer London boroughs, which generally vote Conservative, might cause a political upset. However that isn't the case and the inept maverick Susan Hall, hasn't won. On balance this will give great comfort to Keir Starmer, who was worried that Khan, might not win the totemic position - as the mayor of London. Thank goodness the Conservatives have lost an important battle. Overall the national elections have been sweet news for Labour - but the Conservatives have taken a drumming across the country. Bring on the general election - so we can kick this piratical bunch of charlatans out. They are clinging to the wreckage and drowning in the process.

On Saturday evening an extraordinary result in the West Midlands - was a seismic result in the defeat of Andy Street, by Robert Parker, for Labour. This will put extra pressure on the prime minister Rishi Sunak, to explain such disappointing national results. Can he survive or will the Conservatives decide to carry on with this wounded leader? The general election now looks very worrying for the government - they are a busted flush and should now resign and let us have a Labour government.
