On BBC Sounds there is a very good programme -The History Podcast by Gordon Corera, Shadow War. He is the BBC security correspondent and it deals with the rise of China and especially since the hand over of Hong Kong in 1997. It's a battle of two different political systems, one of absolute control, where no opposition is allowed, to a more open system in the West. It's a power relationship, where China is determined not to be compliant to the West and win the economic battle. The stakes are especially high. An excellent series of 11 programmes.
