There is a fascinating insight into the editor of US Vogue Anna Wintour. It's the podcast by Tortoise - The Last Editor and is unmissable. The film The Devil Wears Prada, was about her supposed life as the grande dame and doyenne of Vogue and played with panache by the indomitable Meryle Streep. Wintour, despite being 74 - there appears to be no stopping her - apart from mortality. She has cast a spell over generations of writers, both in America and across the fashion business. The problem for her employer is - who will replace her? There is no obvious person standing in the wings to take over. Nevertheless let's continue to enjoy while we can - this force of nature at the very centre of such a fickle industry. Of course if she were a man, there would be no clamour - for her to step down?
