Being a member of the exclusive G7 doesn't make you rich and comfortably off across the country. According to the most recent research by professor Suzanne Fitzpatrick it's now so stark in parts of the country, she says it's now "morally reprehensible". How has it come to this where many of our fellow countrymen and women and their families are destitute? Being destitute is codified as: not being warm, dry, feed and clean. Black and other ethnic minorities are the majorities, but there are an increasing number of white working class in these statistics. The Conservative/Liberal Democrat government of 2010-2015 cut the welfare bill dramatically, putting more families on the bread line. When I was a social worker in Islington in the early 1970's things were tough for many, but not this tough. We now have food banks in most towns and villages in the UK. How disgraceful for a rich member of an exclusive club like the G7.
