Sir Bobby Charlton, aged 86 died yesterday. He was the last of the famous Busby Babes and the 1966 World Cup. He was from a different era, when sportsmen were not international celebrities making millions, more from sponsorship than the game. It's impossible to convey to a younger audience, just how different he was. First of all an outstanding football player of great skill and determination, a gentleman both on and off the pitch, modest about his achievements nationally and internationally, a life long Manchester United man and boy. His passing marks a very sad day in the English game of football.
