There was the most nail bitting game of football in the Fifa Women's World Cup in Brisban, this morning London time. The only winner should have been Nigeria, who played with skill, determination and passion. England on the other hand were inept and lacking skill and aplomb. It went to the dreaded penalties after no score in extra time - the nemesis of the English game. Could the spell be broken? After much huffing and puffing, we managed to do it 4/2. The football gods were kind to us today and we didnt deserve it. Poor Nigeria go home, but it should be us.
