Changing habits.

A recent report by Ofcom found that the proportion of people watching broadcast television each week has declined from 83% in 2021 to 79% in 2022. This apparently is the sharpish fall since records began. We are not sitting down as a nation and watching the same programmes and talking about them at work the following day. BBC News lost one million viewers between March and April this year. For the first time, 16 to 24 year olds watched less broadcast TV than children aged between 4 to 15. Nevertheless there has been a big uptake by older people and others watching the BBC iPlayer, Netflix and other streaming services and thereby planning their own TV schedule. The big issue going forward will be - where will young people get true and accurate news from? These habits of TV watching are changing very rapidly and are the broadcasters keeping up?
