One year on from the referendum.
It was one year ago today that we had the referendum about our membership of the EU. There is nothing but confusion about the goal of the government. In The Guardian today Timothy Garton Ash shines a light on this confusion. The "bring back control" mantra had the desired effect. However what does it now mean? Control of immigration, of our courts and legislative programme. Nevertheless no country has absolute control, we live in a world of relative interdependence. Moreover in the light of the recent general election Theresa May is less in control than she was only a few weeks ago. Indeed there is every likelihood of a serious mutiny in the next year or so - led by comrade Boris.
