Last night I went to a bash at the Walkie Talkie building for my daughters new project www.the-line.org. There was a great gathering of the London glitterati and it was great fun! The line is a three mile walk along the Lea Valley next to the Queen Elizabeth Park in East London where different sculptures are sprinkled throughout the walk. The artists include Martin Creed, Anthony Gormley, Sir Edward Paolozzi, Damien Hirst and many more. The idea is that people can enjoy free art of an international quality in their own leisure time. Repeat visits can be enjoyed as many times as you like. The Line can be started at the O2 and then take the cable car across the Thames and just start to walk the line or started on the north bank of the river. The evening at the launch was topped of with the most spectacular sunset across London and the panoramic view from the building was magnificent.
According to Rachel Campbell-Johnson in The Times Saturday Review she has given The Line top billing in her arts guide.
