Personalised learning.

Many schools in the US are having personalised learning via a tablet or similar device. The entrepreneurs across the county are all scrabbling for the 'one to one' learning, the teacher will be like the Dodo and be only part of evolutionary history. However not everyone is signing up to the 'brave new world' and they are surprisingly the leaders of the tech industries in Silicon Valley at Microsoft, Google and Facebook. They send their kids to The Waldorf School in Orange County. This school since 1988 has used the ideas of Rudolf Steiner to underpin their educational philosophy. Why? They believe that young children need their innate creativity and innovation when young and this just cannot be 'programmed into them'. They trust their children through play to discover their true creativity the sine qua non for any future creative adult. In England this is more generally the province of public schools, its more bespoke for these lucky children. This in part goes to explain the educational difference between kids from public schools and state schools. However they are also clear financial advantages that these children have over their contemporaries. Nevertheless a more 'personalised learning' is necessary all children are individuals as well as members of a cohort.
