A meta-relationship.

Today we in the UK are bashing in the sunshine of a new relationship between Ireland and Britain. I should as they say declare an interest,as I have a 'dog in this fight'. My mother was Welsh, my father English, my wife was half Irish and half Scottish, so as a family we joked, that we as mongrels represented the 'combined object' of the United Kingdom. In a relatively short span of evolutionary time our two countries have gone through a major birth trauma. We now celebrate our 'oneness'. In my opinion this is the beginning of the end of a divided nation. We have for many years been not bickering neighbours, but bickering 'parents'. And we all know they produce very unhappy children - delinquent and bent on destruction and mayhem. Just so with our two nations. Thankfully we can now look forward to a brighter future for the children our of benighted nations. It needed a meta-relationship to produce this. The Queen and President of Ireland without this combined object it couldn't happen. They have together produced a new child, the split has been healed. The Queen referred to the genius of Danny Boyle (part Irish) 'getting her to jump our of a helicopter at the 2012 London Olympics', as a demonstration of what can be achieved when our two nations work together. I watched Martin McGuiness on Newsnight with the arch interrogator Jeremy Paxman give him a grilling about why he was off to Windsor for the state dinner?
This is the most amazing transformation of the one time leading member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA). He is now number two in the government of  Northern Ireland.
