The end of The Review Show.
Like many occasional insomniacs over the last 20 years, I have been a devoted and avid watcher of the various incarnations of this in my opinion - enjoyable show. Its been called the 'talking heads' - but its far more than this for us nocturnal owls. The last programme on Sunday evening BBC Two - had some of the old gang back for a farewell reunion chaired by Martha Kearney, plus Paul Morley, Sarah Churchwell and Sarfraz Manzoor. They only learnt of their fate from the top mandarins of the BBC last week. This did feel like - life imitating art viz the new hilarious show on the BBC W1A. Where there is so much crazy management gobbledygook spoken and running amok! Our panel had a thoughtful discussion about the last item on the show the Design Museum close to Tower Bridge. It moves to a more convenient and appropriate site in South Kensington, the one time home of The Commonwealth Institute in 2015. These designs have a natural optimistic view of life. They are seeking to - solve seemingly impossible Gordian knots. So it was with a sad heart that I watched the credits roll, but after death there is always new life. If that doesn't sound too Pollyannaish?
