New place for the arts in the East End of London.

In the London Evening Standard on Monday there was an article about the development of the East End of London of new a massive arts exhibition space similar to that of the Price Albert - Great Exhibition of 1851. The Chancellor George Osborne announced in the House of Common on Monday, that this new Olympicolis will attract some £5.2 billion to the local economy. The Victoria and Albert Museum are planning to open new premises there, as are University College London, more space for the Bartlett School and Slade School of Art. The East End has for too long been synonymous with the very idea of poverty and squalor. George Orwell set his novel- Down and Out in Paris in Paris and London just there. This is all about to change. In addition my daughter is proposing a new sculpture park entitled The Line: A Sculpture Walk for London. It will be from Greenwich where all line measurements are taken across the world. See info@the-line.org.
So we can therefore look forward to good times ahead and enjoy the glorious cornucopia of talent that London attracts from across the world. Lets celebrate our diversity and open attitude to talented creative people - from both inside and outside the European Union.
