The greatest sport.
On a very hot day England managed by the closest of margins, to win the first Test match against Australia by 14 runs. I have watched some thrilling games in the past, but this was without doubt - up there with the best. The game went from one side to the other, is such short bursts of time. That is the joy of the game, it can be so close. I remember an American sports commentator saying some time ago about cricket - 'how was it possible for a game to last five days, and end in a draw'? However there was no draw this time. There were two outstanding contributions in this Test match one by the 19 year old Australian Agar who scored 98 in his very first game for Australia, and the other was by the England boy wonder Jimmy Anderson, taking 10 wickets, and the very last won, that gave us the match. Next stop Lord's on Thursday. Another thrilling game beckons.
