A marriage made in heaven or hell?
Its a little over 6 weeks since the general election-how does he new coalition marriage look? Are we over the honeymoon period? The terrible internecine S&M relationship of the Blair Brown years have been superseded by the homo-erotic love in of Cameron and Clegg. The smell of the rose garden is still in the air! However Relate are on stand by for an emergency call that may come as early as next week after the chancellor George Osborne delivers his first Budget. He has apparently asked for the red leather Budget box that was originally made for Gladstone in the 1860's to be taken out of the National Archive. Back to the future with Osborne/Gladstone! There is the new Office for Budget Responsibility where Sir Alan Budd has to agree the figures-so there may be a 'get out of jail' card for Osborne. I think however the underlying cracks in the 'golden bowl' will start to show and it will all end in tears and divorce. Who will pick up the bill and scars of this break up? Its always the children-in this case the British public! The only question is-how long will it last? Both parties have a vested interest in going on with this charade of a marriage-the Conservatives need the other partner to prop them up and the Lib/Dems need the Conservatives to bring in electoral reform. In the mean time the crew are getting restless and could mutiny over the cuts. So they will either hang together or hang separately! I may sound like Cassandra waiting for the blood to be spilt but being a realist does help. Changing the decks chairs on the Titanic would not have stopped the forthcoming the disaster.
