Senate CIA Report.

Well we all suspected that the US was up to no good post 9/11 and now we know that the CIA were using advanced interrogation techniques. To you and me that's what we call torture. Obama has admitted that they did wrong, but have accepted that they were caught with their hands in the cookie jar. Moreover apparently no useful information was found following this acts of cruelty. No doubt the UK have been up to similar tricks, but don't have the guts to admit it.
George W. Bush says that his administration were doing what was necessary to keep Americans save. They were being 'patriotic' in other words unless you did this you were against the US. That's nonsense on stilts. Needless to say Dick Cheney that robust bully neon-con and the then Vice President has defended this action. There is a straight political divide, the Republicans defending torture, and the Democrats saying is not in the public interests or long term good. The CIA have defended their actions as necessary and part of the war on terror. As Mandy Rice-Davies said all those years ago "they would say that would't they". I rest my case!
How have we reached such an impasse? Homeland on Channel 4 considers this very issue in the latest series. Its deeply depressing that any government should stoop so low and act as judge and jury in this cases. No good ever comes of it.
