Was there in the past a paedophile ring in Westminster?

In The Guardian today there is a report about what the MP Tom Watson is troubled about - namely the increasing anxiety that there was in the past a secret paedophile ring practicing at the very heart of the Westminster village. Some of the rich and famous are implicated. This is potentially a serious allegation and on top of the expenses scandal would course another major crisis in political credibility. What should be done? In order to have faith in the rule of law its necessary that these crimes are not swept again under the establishment carpet as they have been so far. The problem is that the police are also implicated in the original cover up. This issue goes to the very heart of good governance and at present this is wanting. Watson was of course one of the instigators of the dynamite issue of phone tapping on celebrities that  helped to bring down the News of the World. There is no lost between him and the Murdoch press baron. As the cesspit is drained and we begin to see what happened to many vulnerable men and women over the last 40 years or so its increasingly evident that many powerful people turned a Nelsonian eye to the problem.
