A data map that sums up London.
According to the authors Dr James Cheshire and Oliver Uberti their new book The Information Capital London is the place with more connections than any other including New York. This data includes: ethnicity, number of passports, people renting, relationship status some 31.7% are single in the capital, number of Tweets and a lot more besides. The information gives us more that raw data it gives us information about the way we are all living together in the 21st century in London. If you consider one example the number of Tweets most come from the Soho area. I wonder why? Is this to do with the concentration of media people in that part of the capital? This would be a rational explanation as they want to immediately communicate the latest gossip regarding celebrity culture or whatever. I found the distribution of the use of the Oyster card interesting and the flow of traffic to the various football stadiums across London. A fascinating picture of just what is going on today.
