Carswell wins in Clacton the first UKip election.

Well Clacton has caused the biggest seismic shift in English politics since the first Reform Act 1832 when Sir Robert Peel was prime minister. Some of my readers may disagree and say the the election of 1945 was more important in changing this country into a more equal one with the revolutionary Attlee government. Is Carewell a chimera or something we will be discussing and talking about for many generations to come? The tectonic plates in my opinion are moving. The general outrage and disgust with politicians of every hue was ignited when the expenses scandal broke in May 2009. David Cameron's wisteria trimming, the duck house and the cleaning of the moat caused dismay for there sheer bravado. Moreover the European Union seeking to have a finger in every English pie has also made us all angry with the Brussels busy-bodies.
What next in the political scenario as we approach the election in May 2015? Ed Miliband is in the doldrums having had a terrible conference by forgetting the two issues that preoccupy the good citizens of Blighty namely immigration and the recession from 2008 until today. Clegg for his part is a busted flush and has lost all respect from his dwindling band of followers. The support for them is down to a rump of about 7%. They will be wiped out in May. Cameron is in a nightmare place with UKip picking his political pockets and leaving him naked with only a fig leaf to protect his genitals.
Having followed politics assiduously for some time this is the most interesting phase I have witnessed for the last 40 years. Even the reign of Mrs Thatcher was not this engrossing. As Mao said "we life in interesting times".
