Getting ahead of the pack - register very early.
From those alpha highly successful couples (you know who you are) wanting 'their little darlings' to get into Oxbridge and the Bullingdon Club further down the line. The clear advice - is register them very early. After the birth is already 'too late' for some of the most popular nurseries especially in west London like Notinghill Gate and South Kensington. An article in The Times Magazine today emphasis how urgent it all is. One women thought that Leopard's life chances had already been 'sabotaged' as she left it two weeks after his birth before trying to get him registered. Registration is only the very first hurdle in the 'obstacle race'. Of course if your English and public school educated this is all part of your DNA - so no hanging about for them. Its those poor immigrants to London that get the 'cold shower' and wake up call for little Charles, Rupert or Olivia into trying to get them into the nursery, prep-school and public school. Nowhere on earth is more competitive even China has nothing on these highly competitive London parents. Due to the fact that its now a world city and the world wants to be here and being here means getting a 'good schooling and education' in the rat race of life. This is naked Darwinism in practice. I remember after our daughter was born almost 30 years ago at almost all dinner parties there were only ever two conversations - which nursery was your child registered with and where are they going to go after prep school? And secondly how much has you house gone up in the last month? Nothing has changed its just even more competitive now.
