Darling v Salmond.
The television confrontation between the first minister of Scotland Alex Salmond and the leader of the Better Together campaign Alistair Darling was apparently a win for Darling on points - there was no knock out blow. The main issue of - which currency would be used post independence Salmond - could not answer? Was there a Plan B? If so he would not answer. So he communicated a feeling of a 'second hand car salesman' - would you by a car from the chap? As we get closer to the date of the referendum on the 18th September some of these very basic points must be answered by each campaigner. My hunch is that the Better Together argument will win the day - as there are too many 'unknowns' for the canny Scot not to want to know and have some reassurance on things like the currency. We live in 'interesting times' as chairman Mao said many years ago.
