Glastonbury.

Way back in the summer of 1970 - I had a phone call from a friend - ‘did I want to come to a music festival in the village in Pilton’? This was the very first of what is now the longest and most famous of all the pop events - stretching over 5 days. It’s an enormous, tented city with up to 200,000 visitors. At the first one it was basically - two men and a dog. No one would have believed - 54 years on it would become so popular and important. Michael Eavis is the godfather of this gargantuan event in the West country every year. His farm of 1500 acres - is the setting for an event not to be missed by music loving fans from both UK and abroad. The BBC has said recently, that it’s as important as the World Cup and Wimbledon - to the corporation and are determined to broadcast live music from Wednesday until late on Sunday evening. When the group Madness played - my daughter would go down on the band bus as her closest friend was the daughter of Suggs the leader singer of the band. She always had a fabulous time. So enjoy Glastonbury from Wednesday to Sunday - I definitely will.
