Managed decline.

Keir Starmer, took aim at the overweening civil service last night - in what many think is an unnecessary fight. Talking about the “tepid bath of managed decline” is a rather myopic attitude to take of the - very people who will deliver these goals of government. Sir Anthony Seldon, the author of  books on many prime ministers said on BBC Newsnight - “the captain, should stay on the bridge and not be in the engine room”. It’s difficult not to feel pessimistic about this leader - who lack the understanding of the troops on the front line. He is no Henry V who talked in the great Shakespeare play ‘we band of brothers’. Running a country is more complex and difficult than running the Crown Prosecution Service. The last government, wasn’t a - difficult act to follow, nevertheless this government has made a complete Horlicks of doing so - since July. Is Starmer, the captain of the unfortunate Titanic and we no what happened to him and the ship? God forbid.
