In the region of Valencia in Spain, there is a terrible catastrophe unfolding - where already 202 have been killed. The area had so much rain in a very short period. Homes were inundated within a short time and cars were washed away. Many drowned in their cars as they tried to escape. It’s impossible to truly comprehend just how terrible the situation is. Many lives destroyed and others traumatised. The psychological implications for those who did survive will also be great and require therapy and counselling. Spain so often associated with the heat of summer has experienced - the terrifying effects of global warming - first hand. Our hearts go out to the people of Spain and Valencia.
