I won my bet.

 Way back in the - dark ages of 5 July - I took a punt on who would win the Conservative Party race to become leader. I’m now £20 - better off. I went this morning and collected my winnings and popped into my local Waitrose and bought a rather tasty French vino. Thank you Kemi Badenoch, for winning. This is only the second bet I’ve ever made - the last one was a tip my solicitor - I lost £100 and it still rankles. So today was a good day. But as the chap in the betting office said “don’t get the habit”. I said “it’s my second bet and I’m 82, so it’s unlikely to become a habit”. Cheers Kemi.
