According to The Guardian today - the crime writer Lee Child, has reacted with horror and disbelief with the announcement by Birmingham City Council. It will be closing or reducing the hours of 14 out of 24 local libraries. He claimed - "he wouldn't be a writer without libraries". This is particularly true if you are poor and budgets are financially limited. So if you are in London or the South East, you are protected, but not in poor parts of the country. What ever happened to the slogan - levelling up? It's in the political bin - like other Conservative promises by the clown Johnson. Thank goodness - they have all been kicked out of governing the country.
