Realpolitik.

As we now get down to the hard graft of leaving the EU. However it will be practical politics or realpolitik will be the guiding light and not moral or philosophical considerations. Its easy to have the expectation the negotiations will be difficult and more like 'drawing teeth' but it doesn't have to be like that, provided there is good will on both sides. One initial stumbling-block (forgive the pun) is the status of Gibraltar. Spain for many years have contested out government of this lump of rock. The people of Gibraltar on the other hand want to stay under the British flag, despite voting in last years referendum for continuing membership of the EU. No doubt all will be resolved as realpolitik takes over.
